Volunteering Committee

Representation

There are over 1,000 students getting involved in volunteering just in YUSU on an annual basis, through our volunteering projects. Whilst these groups are student-led and student-run, we have elected representatives in YUSU that represent and act in the best interests for those projects and student volunteers, and work to make volunteering even better at York.

Activities Officer

The Activities Officer is the elected sabbatical representative working closely with student groups (Societies, Student Media and Volunteering Projects) to support and enhance their work, encouraging student participation and representing matters concerning student activities.

Anna is your 2023/2024 Activities Officer, you can read her manifesto here. You can contact Anna on activitiesofficer@yusu.org

Volunteering Officer

The Volunteering Officer is a part-time position which a student or pair of students are elected into for a year. The Volunteering Officer doesn't have a network but chairs meetings of the Volunteering Committee' and is in post to represent and support student volunteers.

The officer role for 23/24 is vacant but you can contact Anna with any queries.

Volunteering Committee

Volunteering Committee is chaired by the elected Volunteering Officer and made up of a range of student representatives. The committee is appointed to help provide the most fulfilling and impactful volunteering opportunities to students at York by representing and supporting all volunteers, ratifying new volunteering projects and allocating grant funding.

The Committee is broken into three sub-committees, with an executive committee member taking the lead of each sub committee.
